The great ferment in the world is due to the Spirit of Christ, which works in the depths of all humanity. The present society is already coming to its end. This cycle is already ending, and all people are being put to a test.
You say: “What will become of the old?” The old will not suddenly be destroyed. Everything old that can be used in the construction of the new will be used, and what is unfit for the new construction will be thrown out as unnecessary.
The end of the age implies the end of the old views of humanity and the beginning of a new era of Light and Love, the end of violence and the beginning of peace and freedom, the end of the old world and the beginning of the new world, which will continue for thousands of years into the future.1
What will become of the world, God has a plan for that. How it will be fixed, that is determined by Him.
Christ showed the signs by which one can recognize when this will be — whenever people do not accept a Divine principle, a great reaction comes. But the Divine plan that exists, nothing can change it.
Christ is now speaking to the European peoples:
“If you apply My teaching, great knowledge awaits you, great blessing, but if you reject the Love, you will experience the greatest misfortune.”
Something terrible is being prepared under the earth. If these people do not accept the Divine Love, there will be a revolution in nature. And this revolution that is happening now is nothing compared to the one that nature is preparing. There will be such a revolution that the world does not remember, that it has never seen.
Another culture will grow on this earth. Only these reasonable relations of The Love can save us from the future catastrophe. When God, that is, Love, comes into the world, it will produce such terrible earthquakes, such great suffering, that those who know it will stand under the tree of life and even here, on Earth, will solve [resolve] the great question. This question is not solved in Heaven, but on Earth. The Lord comes through fire to cleanse the Earth, to gather the old rags of people, to give them new rules, to bring Love into their hearts, to raise their minds, to remove from them all malice and hatred.
The nations are now walking on the wrong path, watching each other weaken. If they do not reconcile, there will be great revolutions, because there will be no proper government and hunger will be felt.
Christ came to Earth with a great mission. He wanted to show the modern nations how they should act.
Everything that Christ preached in his time concerned the present times. He said to all nations: you will come to a great crisis. If you want to free yourself from this crisis, the only solution lies in what I preach. If you apply My teaching, you will be saved from a great catastrophe; if you do not apply My teaching, the catastrophe is inevitable.
Now you are stuck for the sole reason that you have left everything to God and say: “When Christ comes, He will settle everything.” Christ came, but settled what? As people understand the settlement of things, He settled nothing. He came and the Roman Empire crucified Him. Then Christ came in 1914, but 6 million people died. He told them: “Do not fight!”, but they did not listen to Him.

People are getting ready now, and if a war breaks out, about 50 million people will die. If they do not understand even then, a new [third world] war will break out, even more fierce, in which 550 million people will die. I do not want this, but I say that human thoughts, feelings and actions determine this war, in which no less than 50 million people will die. If they do not understand even then, a more terrible war will come. [nb: 50 million died in WWII and up to 75 million, depending on sources]
After it, they will no longer fight, because a miracle will happen that people have never expected. Then all communications, railways, telegraphs, telephones will be cut off, and at least 100 years will pass before relations between one people and another can be restored. By that time, they will be completely isolated.
I do not predict this, but prophets from all over the world, from England, from America, from Germany, from France, China, Japan, from everywhere, predict what will happen.
If the people do not reconcile, famine will come, cold, great earthquakes, pestilence, and only then will they reconcile, that is, such terrible things will come that will force them to reconcile. But because of the chosen ones, suffering will end. These, the chosen ones, sustain life.

What we are experiencing today, and feel weighs heavy on our heads, is the karma of all humanity.
This is a debt that we must pay. We will all be affected by the common karma of humanity. Everyone will bear something of it.

As this world was born, so it will die. This world is irreparable! This order of the world is irreparable—nothing more! Let them impose whatever system they want on it, preach whatever doctrine they want on it, impose whatever religion they want on it, the present order of things is irreparable, the present world is irreparable.
That is the question. This is a ship that you have entered and you will pray to God that you will get safely to the shore. If you can get safely to the shore, then you will be careful not to set your foot on it a second time.
The feet of the image, made of clay and iron, represent European culture. The great stone that struck the feet of this image and crushed them represents God’s destiny, the rational thing that is coming into the world. This great stone will destroy all modern old understandings and concepts in both science and public life, and will create a new science, new relationships that will rest on a solid, positive foundation.
